Watford City Parade Of Lights Set For Nov. 24

Watford City Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Parade of Lights will be lighting up the city Friday, Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m. This year, the parade will start at the old fairgrounds then turn west onto 4th and then turn onto Main St. The parade will end on Park Ave. and Main with fireworks.

There will no longer be candy thrown from the floats. Mary Gumke, Watford City chamber executive director said, “We want to make it safe for the kids.” The panel of three judges is back to judge the floats and the prize will be a traveling trophy and $150 to the winners in two categories; overall outstanding entry presenting and illustrating the parade theme, “Make It Merry” and overall outstanding entry presenting the best use of lights.

Gumke said, “My thought on the theme is whatever makes your holiday season merry.”
