Gala Scheduled For Saturday In Watford City

The Long X Arts Foundation and Watford City Parks and Recreation invite you to The Gala: For Arts and Parks and Recreation, March 2, at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City.

The Gala is a formal fundraiser featuring supper, a blackjack table, live music, live painting, silent auction, and dancing to benefit the arts and parks and recreation programming in McKenzie County.

“We are looking forward to hosting an evening of entertainment where guests get a chance to dress up and get treated like the celebrities they are as they support the unique programming our organizations offer,” said Jessie Scofield, Director of the Long X Arts Foundation.

Guests can expect a cocktail hour from 5:30-6:30 p.m. sponsored by First International Bank and Trust featuring a signature cocktail and appetizers. During the cocktail hour, browse unique silent auction items and watch as artists Morgan Wagner and Afton Ray-Rossol paint regional themed pieces that will be available at the live auction later in the evening.

In addition to live painting, the American Legion Club will be hosting a blackjack table throughout the evening, with proceeds benefitting the causes. Guests can also take part in the wine and whiskey pull sponsored by Red Barn Liquors, where, for a fixed price participants will choose from a selection of wrapped wine and whiskey bottles of varying types and quantities, with the chance to score a high-end bottle.

Supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. with a choice between prime rib or chicken parmesan before the featured entertainment, Pop Rock Orchestra, hits the stage at 8:30 p.m. Pop Rock Orchestra is an eight-piece band that plays the hits spanning the 60s, 70s, and 80s from British Invasion to iconic American rock. This is a big band with a big band sound so put on your dancing shoes or just come to enjoy musical entertainment at its finest!

“We believe that the arts and the parks and recreation activities that we offer makes our community an outstanding place to live, work, and raise kids,” said Josh Nollmeyer, Event and Recreation Director at the Rough Rider Center. “We couldn’t do what we do without the support of the community and this event gives guests the chance to support a great cause while taking part in a special event.”

“A special thank you to our sponsors who are supporting our efforts in creating an event that we hope will become a community tradition,” added Scofield. “We look forward to hosting an unforgettable evening.”

Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased at longxarts.com. Watch social media channels for a chance at prizes for early registration.
