Reuters Signs With Montana State Track Program

Savage's Brooke Reuter has decided to take her running talents to Montana State University in Bozeman.

Reuter, a five-time state champion sprinter in Class C, said the decision was fairly easy since her father, Brady, and her track coach/uncle, Jerren Erickson, are each big supporters of the Bobcats.

"Since I was a little kid, that's where I wanted to be," Brooke said of attending MSU.

Reuter has won the state championship in the 100-meter dash in each of her three prior seasons. The senior has finished first in the 200 twice. She has placed third in the 400 three times and has also placed in the long jump.

Her school records are 12.35 seconds in the 100, 25.33 seconds in the 200 and 58.36 seconds in the 400.

Reuter's goals for her senior season include four-peating in the 100 and repeating in the 200. Her best triple jump mark has been 35-05, and she is hoping to break Melanie Foster's school record of 36-5.

After a team finish of third place at last year's state meet, Reuter wants the Warriors to place at least that high this year. "All the girls really want it," she said.

She is thankful for the support from her family, coaches and teammates. She credits teammate Cambry Conradsen, a junior, for pushing her during practices and meets. "I wouldn't be where I am without her," Reuter said.
