Sidney High School band students excelled during the State Music Festival held in Billings on May 3-4.
Among Sidney’s standouts was junior Mercedes Lamb who earned superior ratings for her piano solo, her xylo solo and marimba solo.
Also earning superior awards for solos were Daxton Brower, Alyssa Batchelor, Jhonatan Delgado, Xander Schlothauer, Joshua Pollari, Logan Lowrey, Morgan Kindopp, Lucy Sommerfeld, Daniel Stevens, Theresa Wick, Hayden Wiidanen and Nicholas Jorstad.
Scoring excellent scores were Delgado on piano, Corben Holler, Monica Steinbeisser and Macki Gonzalez.
Ensembles earning superior ratings were percussion ensemble, trombone trio, the gold sax quartet, senior trio, clubs and mallets, brass quintet, saxsational sax quartet and clarinet quintet.
Having excellent scores were jazz band and jazz combo.
