Savage Girls Excel At State Meet With Historic Win For The School

The Savage Girls Track & Field Team ended their season on top winning the State Class C title in Great Falls May 24-25. This is the first state title for Savage girls track & field and the third state title for the school in any sport.

Savage coach Nicki Reuter was also named 2024 MCA Class C Girls Track Coach of the Year. "It should have been Savage track coaches that won coach of the year," Reuter humbly stated. "It's a huge honor and it was fun." Reuter has been girls track coach since 2012.

The team struggled with bad weather on the first day of the state meet. Things were close going into the second day with some of the jumpers not performing as expected. "It really came down to the relays at the end that decided it," Rueter said. The girls broke a school record in the relay and combined with top finishes by Brooke Reuter and Cambry Conradsen in the 100m & 200m to come out over 2nd place Roberts.
