Makoshika State Park is holding a Bat Walk on Friday, Aug. 15. This event is free and open to the public and will start out at Makoshika's outdoor amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. The amphitheater is located about a half mile past the Visitor's Center, 1301 Snyder St., Glendive, and there will be signs along the route directing the public.
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) Region 7 non-game staff will will give a short talk on bats and why they are important to the ecosystem, before taking participants on the Bat Walk. FWP staff will use bat detectors and special software to identify different bat species.
