    GREAT FALLS, Mont., Aug. 8, 2023 — The American Red Cross has seen a shortfall of about 25,000 blood donations in the first two months of the summer, which makes it hard to keep hospital shelves stocked with lifesaving blood products. By making an appointment to give blood or platelets in August, donors can keep the national blood supply from falling to shortage levels.   • Possible Human Remains Found South of Sidney

    On the evening of Aug. 13, 2023 at approximately 8:30 p.m., a resident reported to the Sheriff’s Office that they had been engaging in recreational activities on the Yellowstone River south of Sidney during which time they came upon possible human skeletal bones. They recovered bones from the site and turned them over to the Sheriff’s Office. The Richland County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Richland County Coroner and the Montana Fish and Game are following up with an on-site investigation.
