Dr. Ron Hanson, Neal E. Professor of Agribusiness at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be speaking on four topics Thursday morning Jan. 9 at Ag Days in Sidney:

Dr. Hanson will begin speaking at 8:30am and will go on until approximately 12:30pm.

A distinguished speaker, Dr. Hanson was recently honored with two prestigious teaching awards:

AAEA Senior Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching Award and NACTA Distinguished Educator Award.

He has earned 26 university and national recognitions throughout his 39 year career.

He's also received the John Deere Agribusiness Teaching Award of Excellence and the University Educator of the Year Award. He is the only Nebraska professor to have received the highest national teaching honor granted to a college professor in the area of agricultural and food sciences, the USDA Excellence in University Teaching.

Hanson was raised on an Illinois family farm. He earned his undergraduate college degree from Western Illinois University and his graduate degrees from the University of Illinois. He counseled with Nebraska farm families for more than 35 years to help them resolve family conflicts in a more positive manner and to improve family relations through better communications. He is recognized as a family expert in farm succession planning and is a highly sought after program speaker across Canada and the USA.
