Sidney Wrestling Action

The Sidney Wrestling Club had a busy weekend with events taking place in Poplar, Great Falls, Choteau, and Butte. Twenty eight wrestlers in grades 5 through 8 from the Sidney Wrestling Club as well as a few wrestlers from Circle and Wolf Point traveled west to participate in a weekend of dual and individual tournaments.   Wrestlers were:  Krayle Stormer (Circle), Kade Graves, Jordan Darby, Kadin LeFors, Logan Ullmer, Riley Waters, Brodey Skogen, Christian Dean, Matthew DeWitt (Wolf Point), Everett Jensen, AJ Ullmer, Jace Winter, Trey Taylor (Circle), Trevor Dean, Jett Jones, Quinn Whitmus (Wolf Point), Kelton LeFors, Waylon VanBuren, Jace Johnson, Ryan Wyman, Keelen Geiser, Josh Aisenbrey, Jeremiah Paine (Wolf Point), Avery Gurney, Riley Chatterton, Carson Allen, Sawyor Thogersen, and Kyle Schillinger (Circle).  Friday night the team wrestled a dual against the Great Falls Middle Schools.   The Sidney Team came up short with a score of 42-75.  Saturday the team participated in the Choteau Duals Wrestling Tournament.  Scores were:Dual 1:  Sidney (46) vs. Great Falls (54) Dual 2: Sidney (73) vs. Choteau (21) Dual 3: Sidney (83) vs. Browning (18) Dual 4: Sidney (55) vs. Great Falls East (48) in the Preliminary Championship Round Dual 5:  Sidney (46) vs. Billings Senior Middle School (66) in the Championship Round. Sidney Placed 6th in the Choteau Dual Tournament.  There were 16 teams total that participated.

 Wrestlers then traveled to Butte where they participated in the 10th Annual Cyclops Memorial Tournament on Sunday.  Wrestlers placing in Butte are as follows:Ryan Wyman – 1st Place Schoolboy 144, Josh Aisenbrey – 2nd Place Cadet 88, Keelen Geiser – 2nd Place Schoolboy 160, Kade Graves – 3rd Place Novice, 70, Waylon VanBuren – 3rd Place Schoolboy 128, Kyle Schillinger – 3rd Place Cadet 220, Riley Waters – 4th Place Novice 100, Jace Winter – 4th Place Schoolboy 105, Quinn Whitmus – 4th Place Schoolboy 112, Jeremiah Paine – 4th Place Cadet 113, Matthew DeWitt – 5th Place Schoolboy 77, AJ Ullmer – 5th Place Schoolboy 105, Avery Gurney – 5th Place Cadet 120, Sawyor Thogersen – 5th Place Cadet 160, Logan Ullmer – 6th Place Novice 80, Christian Dean – 6th Place Schoolboy 77, Kelton LeFors – 6th Place Schoolboy 128, Riley Chatterton – 6th Place Cadet 126 , Trey Taylor – 7th Place Schoolboy 112.

A highlight from the weekend was that Ryan Wyman had a record of 8-0 all three days of wrestling.  Spectacular!!
