"Art of War" Opening Reception June 12, 2015 at 7:00pm At The MonDak Heritage Center

The MonDak Heritage Center in Sidney, Montana will be hosting an exhibit from Denver, Colorado June 12 through July 24, 2015 called “Art of War.” The exhibit will be made up of art work created by United States military veterans, as part of the Art of War Project, who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. They use art as an outlet for coping with their disorder.

“Art of War” will coincide with National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Month in June with the hope of bringing awareness to this important issue. In addition, a combat boot exhibit will be on display courtesy of Delrae Steinbeisser June 16 through July 24, 2015. The display is in memorial to the number of veterans who commit suicide each day in the United States.

An open house will take place on Friday, June 12 at 7:00pm. The open house is free and open to the public. Curt Bean, the founder of the Art of War Project, will be on hand to answer questions, as well as a number of artists whose work will be featured in the exhibit. “Art of War” is made possible in Sidney through the generous support of S/L Services, Mitchell’s Oil Field Service and Sidney VFW Auxiliary. If you would like to support this exhibit and the work that the Art of War Project does, please call the MonDak Heritage Center at 406-433-3500, email [email protected] or stop in at 120 3rd Avenue SE in Sidney.
