Benefit for Local Infant Scheduled For April 5

Starting at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, there will be a benefit raffle for Calliope Hamilton at Watford City Eagles Club (Aeries #3543), 1904 S. Main, Watford City, ND.

Raffle tickets are $20 and can be purchased at several Watford City businesses, including any MBI location, Big Boys Toys, Red Rock Auto, Eagles Club, Latte Da Coffee, and Diskonnect. There will be over $6,000 worth of prizes to be raffled off and you are not required to be present to win.

On Dec. 23, 2019, Alexander and Krystene Hamilton’s daughter, Calliope Marie Hamilton, was born with a condition known as Pneumothorax, which is a collection of gas in the chest cavity that causes the lungs to collapse. Calliope’s lungs were not fully developed at birth, causing her to depend on breathing tubes and oxygen supply immediately after birth. Calliope was then rushed to Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota, and was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on Dec. 24, where she spent two weeks before she was able to return home.

Alexander and Krystene traveled from Watford City to Minot with their two-year-old son almost every other day, to visit their daughter in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit until she could breathe on her own. Due to this - the Hamilton’s have been faced with significant expenses related to Calliope’s care so that any financial contribution would be greatly appreciated. Everyone is encouraged to purchase a raffle ticket - all of the proceeds will be used for Calliope’s medical expenses.
