This year, the Richland County Fair and Rodeo will be celebrating 100 years of operation, Aug. 4-7. This century celebration was set to take place last year, but due to COVID-19, the fair board had to cancel the fair and rodeo.
"After 2020 I think the fair patrons will be ready to enjoy four days and nights of fun. I am excited to be able to have the community celebrate the Fair's Centennial this year," said Jamie Larson, Richland County Fair and Rodeo Manager.
In honor of the Fair's Centennial Celebration there will be merchandise items available to purchase including a history book, limited edition rifle, umbrellas, and more.
The fairgrounds will have a new 4-H complex that will be utilized during the fair. This consists of a cattle barn, sheep/swine barn, and horse stalls.
Larson said, "This is a great addition and investment to the Fairgrounds."
In addition to this, there will be tons of entertainment provided throughout the fair. This includes the commercial, agriculture, school, and 4-H exhibits, food booths and carnival by North Star Amusements. There will also be daily entertainment including a balloon artist, percussive dancers/cloggers/tappers, musicians on the stage, a bubble tower, and a strolling act.
On Wednesday, Aug. 4, dueling pianos group, "Duelly Noted," will be performing a free show in the arena/grandstand.
The PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) Rodeos will be held on Thursday, Aug. 5 and Friday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. presented by Brookman Rodeo. Thursday will be Military Appreciation Night and Friday will be Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night.
On Saturday, Aug. 7, Brett Young with special guests The Bellamy Brothers will be on the big stage starting at 7 p.m.
The Richland County Fair and Rodeo strives to make the fair fun for all ages. For more information on the 2021 Richland County Fair and Rodeo check out its website: http://www.richland.org/295/Fair-Rodeo.
