The MonDak Area Stockgrowers and Foundation for Community Care will be hosting its Rockin’ Your Heart Weekend and 9th Annual Cattlemen’s Ball June 4 & 5 at the Richland County Fair and Rodeo.
Starting Friday, June 4, at 5 p.m. there will be a Cattlemen’s Team Roping. This is where participants can show off their roping skills; registration begins at 4 p.m.
On Saturday, June 5, at 8 a.m., there will be a 5k/10k Beef Run. There will be a $30 entry fee- with this fee participants will receive a t-shirt that has brands of the sponsoring ranches on the back. Participants can register online or the day of the event at the fairgrounds.
In addition to these events, there will be a Pasture to Plate Ranch Tour on Saturday, June 5, at 10 a.m. This is a guided bus tour that provides in-depth information on where and how beef is produced. There is a $30 fee for this tour and it includes a tasty tribute to the local cattle industry.
The main event for the 9th Annual Rockin’ Your Heart Weekend is “A Night Under the Stars Cattlemen’s” Ball. This will be an outdoor evening with dinner, dancing, and fundraising. This part of the event’s goal is to raise awareness of the benefits of the beef industry. It will include a live auction, a beef entree, and live music by Paul Bogart. Tickets are $50 each and available for pick up at the Foundation for Community Care office located at 221 2nd St NW, Sidney.
The primary funding for the Cattlemen’s Ball is from community sponsors. Last year’s event raised over $20,000. The proceeds go towards supporting local healthcare services in the area.
