McKenzie County 4-H Clothing Revue Held

The 2021 McKenzie County 4-H Clothing Revue was held Thursday, June 3 at First Lutheran Church, Watford City. This event is designed to develop leadership abilities, build character and assume citizenship responsibilities in youth. Participants will also have the opportunity to grow by experiencing the skills they need to plan, select and create clothing representative of their personality. Young 4-H'ers can acquire poise, good posture and grooming habits through this event.

The Sew and Show category is a traditional area of constructed garment entries. Sew and Show Teen Grand Champion was Amelia Wisness, Keene. Amelia created a cheetah print skirt. Preteen Grand Champion Champion was Clara Wisness, Keene, wiyh blue tie dye sun dress. Reserve Champion went to Gracyn Darrington, Arnegard, as she entered her sewn pajama bottoms. Receiving participation ribbons were Gavyn Darrington, Arnegard, with her sewn poke-a-dot skirt and Taylee Hunsaker, Alexander, with a jean skirt and shirt.

The Buy and Show category consists of purchase garment entries. Grand Champion achiever in the Preteen Division was Tylee Thorne, Watford City. Tylee modeled a floral romper with a jean jacket. KC Korslien, Watford City, received Reserve Champion honors with her David's Bridal flower girl dress. Cloverbuds (5-7 year old noncompetitive division) entries in this category were: Willow Northrop, Arnegard, with a yellow poke-a-dot dress, Hailey Transtrom, Arnegard, with a green dress with unicorns and flowers, Natalie Transtrom, Arnegard, with a blue floral dress and Graham Darrington, Arnegard with shorts and a t-shirt.

Decorate Your Duds category consists of decorated clothing items. KayDee Ceynar, Arnegard received Grand Champion in the Preteen Division with her embellished jean jacket.

Teen and Preteen Division participants were invited to advance to the State 4-H Clothing Revue set for July 26 at North Dakota State Fair, Minot.

Assisting with the 2021 program were, Miranda Samuelson and Nikki Filkowski, Hair Styling; Addison George, Program Assistant and Allison Zimmerman, Judge.
