Javier and Veronica Morales have been operating the Centre Theater, Sidney,since Jan. 25. "We are a young, energetic family that is happy to serve the community by providing some stress relief and fun," said owner Javier Morales.
They are finishing up the first phase of their construction plan: to remodel the whole concessions area.
Next, they will be putting in an arcade. Most of the machines will be upstairs. Their goal is to be able to some day restore the storefront. "This is a historical building. We would like to make the marquee retro, with an LED and neon sign," said Morales. "We also have a photo op area at the base of the stairs."
The Centre Theatre has three showings Monday-Thursday (2 different movies) and four showings on Friday-Sunday (2 different movies). Movie times are changing to meet the needs of the community. Go to Centre theatre.com for show times or call the information line (new number) at 406-478-6282.
The theatre can also be rented out for private events. You can watch a movie or hook your Xboxes up to the big screen. A minimum of six people is needed to reserve a time.
The "Hollywood Experience" is $17.25 each which includes popcorn, pop, and cotton candy.
The "Red Carpet Experience" adds a pizza party for $25.25 each, and $28.25 each participant to also have an ice cream party.
All of the labor for the remodel is being donated by Morales Construction based out of Fairview.
