NE Arts Network Announces 2023-24 Big Sky Concert Series

The Northeastern Arts Network is pleased to present the 2023-24 Big Sky Concert Series. This year's series features exciting a kaleidoscope of musical entertainment as part of this art organization's ongoing commitment to provide quality entertainment to the community with a variety of shows that will appeal to every age and interest. The following performances will be held at 7 p.m. at the MonDak Heritage Center, Sidney.

The season kicks off on Sept. 14 when Montana Repertory Theatre presents "The Odyssey" adapted by Briandaniel Oglesby.

"The Odyssey" follows the journey of Odysseus as he encounters Cyclops, sirens, and more on his 10-year voyage home after the Trojan War. Oglesby's adaptation condenses this sprawling tale into a fast-paced, slapstick comedy performed by a small ensemble of three actors playing dozens of characters. Through imaginative storytelling and physical comedy, the play captures the poetry and tragedy of the original work while making it accessible to modern audiences.

On Oct. 26, we welcome Colorado singer-songwriter, Rebecca Folsom and her band. Rebecca believes every lyric, every note, every musical collaboration carries the potency to change the world. With her new recording, "Sanctuary", Rebecca is on a mission to do that one listener at a time. Moving with ease through her four-octave range she plucks the instrument of the heart with tender fearlessness and fiery passion all meant to awaken unfettered aliveness. Rooted in folk and gospel, Rebecca has played on BBC television, Red Rocks Amphitheater, the Bluebird, and Opryland as well as numerous festivals nationwide. She was a semi-finalist in the 2021 International Songwriting Competition with her song "Sanctuary".

Traveling from Canada will be the Folk-roots power couple Tom and Kalissa Landa on Nov. 16. This duo is best known as lead members of "The Paperboys", or their Latin inspired counterpart "Locarno", as well as the BC World Music Collective. Their music is a combination of Celtic, Folk, Latin, Mexican, and Roots music and also reflects their respective Mexican and Chilean heritages. Tom and Kalissa have a lovely vocal harmony blend and draw the listener in with great songs played on fiddle, guitar, and jarana (Mexican 8 string guitar).

Feb. 9, 2024 will feature a duo celebration of classic and contemporary Broadway with singing and dancing with Nic+Desi! Following star turns on Broadway and in numerous nationally touring musicals, theatrical power couple Nicolas Dromard and Desireé Davar created this new duo act to be able to share their love of song and dance with venues worldwide.
