Lynde Benefit A Success

The Sidney community gathered together to support Sidney native Larry Lynde on Saturday, Sept. 9, who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

The benefit started out with a four-person golf scramble and culminated with a supper, silent auction and live auction hosted by the Sidney Elks Club.

"Larry has cheered for so many in our community, now it's our turn to cheer for him!", said an organizer of the event.

Community members describe Lynde as a "die hard Eagles fan" and a "legend". You may have been lucky enough to witness Larry lead his famous "Eagles cheer" at a sporting event. Sidney Eagle athletes were present to help out on Saturday evening.

Financial donations for Lynde's treatment can still be made at the Sidney Elks Lodge.
