Saloon 27 To Serve Steak, Seafood & World-Class Service

The building that was formerly Rod Iron Bar & Grill is now the home of Saloon 27 Casino, Steak, and Seafood, Sidney.

Shadd and Amanda Cullinan, long time owners of the Ranger Lounge and Casino in Sidney had just recently started another Ranger Bar and Casino in Glendive. They had had their eyes on the Rod Iron for a while. After some careful consideration, the couple approached the owners of the Rod Iron.

"It is a beautiful building and an asset to Sidney." Shadd said. They kept the rustic browns, fireplace, and other decor but changed the name and the menu. "The 27 is for Richland County," he said. The sale of the restaurant closed on Dec. 14. The casino was reopened under the new name the very next day but the restaurant did not reopen until Dec. 27. Shadd brought some familiar faces from Sidney's Ranger Lounge, Casino & Eatery to form the staff of his new restaurant. Marci Johnson is now general manager for the Ranger and Saloon 27 and Jamie Velasco is the kitchen manager. The Cullinans hired a few more people and the restaurant is now fully staffed.

Besides what a patron would expect to see in a menu, Saloon 27 sports new dishes such as fried brussel sprouts and fish tacos to mussels and shrimp cocktail as appetizers. For main entrees patrons can have anything from pot roast all the way to salmon or seafood pasta. If nothing seems fancy enough, shrimp or a lobster tail can be added on. They also have wine and a revolving dessert menu to finish off the experience.

Saloon 27 is located at 520 N. Central Ave., Sidney. They are open from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Visit Saloon 27 Steak & Seafood on their Facebook page to keep track of any menu changes or special events.
