Ellingson Named Fitzgerald Pharmacist Of The Year

Sidney – It is with great pleasure and immense pride that Sidney Health Center extends congratulations to Erin Ellingson for being honored with the prestigious Fitzgerald Pharmacist of the Year award by the Montana Pharmacy Association. This recognition was awarded to Ellingson during the 2024 Winter Conference held in January, where her outstanding contributions to healthcare were acknowledged and celebrated.

As the primary pharmacist at Sidney Health Center Cancer Care, she collaborates with the medical oncologists and the care team to ensure high-quality patient care. Her dedication is evident in her contributions, from advising on medication for cancer treatment to shaping effective treatment plans. Her commitment extends beyond her role, as she actively seeks growth by attending oncology conferences. In the past year, she participated in events in Denver and Washington, DC, enhancing her skills alongside the Cancer Care team. From direct patient care to learning new skills, She puts her heart and soul into ensuring our cancer patients receive high quality care, specific to their needs.

The Fitzgerald Pharmacist of the Year Award is awarded annually to a Montana pharmacist who makes a difference by actively supporting their profession and demonstrates going beyond the professional call of duty.

Steve Case, Sidney Health Center pharmacy director, submitted the nomination to the Montana Pharmacy Association. "I am honored to have nominated Erin for this prestigious award," stated Case. "Her dedication and compassion in helping each and every patient, always going above and beyond, is truly remarkable. Erin puts her heart and soul into her work, and I wanted to share her inspiring commitment with others, hoping it will encourage everyone to give a little bit more. We are so fortunate to have her as a apart of our team."

Erin has been a pharmacist at Sidney Health Center since 1999 starting as a hospital pharmacist working in all aspects of the organization including inpatient, ER, Extended Care, and Oncology. In 2012, she transitioned to working mainly at the expanding Cancer Care Suite. Since that time, the number of patients cared for daily has increased with the addition of full-time oncologists and expanded IV therapy. Outside of work, Erin is an equally dedicated hockey and rodeo mom to Rowan and Drew.
