Letter to The Editor
The Sidney post prom committee is comprised of a small volunteer group of junior and senior parents who seek to keep our community kids safe on prom night. This year’s committee hosted a gathering from 11:30 p.m.-3:30 a.m. last Saturday night after the Sidney prom. The evening was held at the Richland County Event Center and consisted of pizza and snacks, a photo booth, a cornhole tournament, spike ball tournament, door prizes, bingo games, casino games: roulette, craps, blackjack and poker. Entertainment Explosion, a company traveling here from Dickinson, provided a DJ/MC, large inflatable obstacle course, Mario cart game, laser tag and a football toss for the students to enjoy. The finale of the evening was a Chinese style auction with many prizes donated by area businesses. The students had chances to win tickets throughout the night to place into the prizes that they wished to win. Many prizes were purchased through donations from area businesses, as well as businesses donating the actual prizes. We are blown away by the support of our community for this event. It was announced at the event that Amazon did NOT contribute to the prizes in any way and kids were encouraged to “shop local”.
Again, we want to express our gratitude to our local businesses in the community effort to keep our kids safe.
Bobbi Jo Lonski,
post prom committee member
