Eagles, Warriors Earn Honors At Top 10

Sidney came away with three first-place showings during the Top 10 track meet held in Glasgow on April 29.

Morgan Kindopp, a junior, cleared 11-0 in the pole vault for top honors in that event.

Audree Deming, a junior, earned first in the discus with a mark of 105-7.

Chace Waters, a senior, gained top honors for Sidney’s boys with a mark of 52-1 in the shot put.

Another highlight for Sidney’s boys was the 400-meter relay team featuring Joseph Yadon, Aren Larson, Kevin Hutzenbiler and Jarret Averett finishing third with a time of 45.56 seconds.

Carter Heggem placed fourth in the 1600 with a personal best time of 4:41.03.

Ave’ Norby also earned a spot on the awards’ stand by placing fourth in the discus at 96-8. Yadon came close to earning top four recognition as he finished fifth in the 100 at 11.59 and fifth in the long jump at 19-3.

The Fairview Warriors also scored at the meet. Leading the way was Kambre Kloker by clearing 9-6 in the pole vault for second place. Fairview’s girls’ 400-meter relay team consisting of Averi Riedel, Carly Buxbaum, Kynlee Vitt and Kallee Hopes took second with a time of 52.17 seconds.

The girls’ 1600-meter relay team of Riedel, Hopes, Vitt and Buxbaum placed fourth at 4:19.23.

Hopes, a senior, earned fourth in the shot put with a best of 35-7.

Earning third-place honors for Fairview’s boys were Brock Schlothauer with a best of 145-10 in the javelin and Deacon Gackle with a mark of 143-8 in the discus.

Tyler Loan, a junior, finished fourth in the 400 at 53.17 seconds.

Both of Fairview’s boys’ relay teams placed fourth. The relays consisting of Curt Rice, Loan, Troy Karst and Ryan Lustig had times of 46.15 in the 400 and 3:40.0 in the 1600.
