  • Harvest Reporting Now Mandatory for Paddlefish Anglers

    Before hitting the river, paddlefish anglers should be aware of a new requirement this year. Anglers harvesting a paddlefish anywhere in Montana are now required to report their harvest within 48 hours. Anglers not reporting a harvested paddlefish will not be eligible to purchase a paddlefish tag the following year. Options for reporting a harvested paddlefish include on-site where the fish was harvested (like the fish cleaning station at Intake Fishing Access Site) or a phone hotline.     After a 40-year ban, Congress lifted the ban on exporting crude oil just this last December. Hess Corp on Friday, April 22nd, 2016 confirmed it sold Bakken crude oil for export out of the U.S. Gulf Coast to Europe. Loaded at St. James, Louisiana in early April, Hess sold 175,000 barrels of Bakken crude oil which is being shipped to a refinery in Europe; spokesman John Roper stated in an email.
