Holiday Inn Express Holds Ground Breaking Ceremonies

Sidney Hotel Group LLC, in conjunction with Badger Hotel Development Company, held its ground breaking ceremony for Holiday Inn Express and Suites Hotel, Sidney, on Sept. 9. Representing the Sidney Hotel Group were the managing partners Ray Johnson, Margie Peterson and Joe Sheehan.

The hotel will be located immediately west of the Richland Federal Credit Union on Holly Street at 251 Holly St. The hotel will be four stories and have 75 rooms plus an indoor pool with water features.

The Sidney Hotel Group was formed by managing members Ray Johnson, Margie Peterson and Joe Sheehan. The group is made up primarily of investors who have roots in Sidney and are excited to help our community grow.

American Hospitality Management Inc., a Michigan-based company, will manage the hotel. This award-winning company has extensive experience in managing top name brand hotels throughout the Midwest and eastern United States.

Maple Creek Construction is the general contractor for the project. They have more than 50 years of construction experience and have constructed more than 40 hotels. The project is already underway and is expected to be complete in early spring.

Johnson said, “The success of this project is a result of the culmination of efforts from many different organizations. They include the Richland Federal Credit Union, the City of Sidney including the water and sewer board, the public works department, the board of adjustments, the city council, Mayor Bret Smelser and Richland Economic Development. It was very refreshing to have these organizations help get this project done.”

The Sidney Hotel Group is very pleased to have this project financed locally through Wells Fargo Bank.
