MFU Schedules Oil & Gas Leasing Workshops Feb. 27-28

The Montana Farmers Union will host two educational meetings about oil and gas leasing. The Feb. 28-29 meetings are designed to help landowners understand leasing options for natural resources and minerals associated with their property.

Meetings will be held in Glendive at the Moose Hall at 1 p.m. on Feb. 27 and in Billings at the Depot, Montana Avenue at 9 a.m. Feb. 28.

The workshops will give landowners the tools they need to learn about water, leasing and other natural resource considerations.

Presenters at the workshops will include representatives from the Dept. of Natural Resources and Conservation discussing water considerations, Montana Land and Minerals Owners Association, and also invited is a geologist and hydrologist.

Following the oil and gas meeting will be a lunch and producer crop update. Lunch is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Please RSVP for an accurate lunch count.

Attendees are asked to register with the MFU office at 452-6406 or 800-234-4071 or via e-mail at [email protected]. With increased interest in oil and gas exploration west of the Bakken and into Montana, now is the time to learn what you need to know before being approached or signing a lease of your mineral rights.
