New, Ready To Eat Bison Products Hit The Shelves

Having a 30 year history in the bison industry, Steve Killorn, owner of Montrail Bison, has a great new product on store shelves; buffalo jerky and buffalo chili.

Touting the properties of the meat as healthier, lower in fat content and with fewer calories than even chicken, he has found his way into stores all across Montana and North Dakota.

With the help of his sales reps, Faith and Brenda, the company has managed to cement a relationship with Convenience store conglomerate, Town Pump and is featured in their many stores. They have criss-crossed the region, getting Montrail Bison added into the inventory of many other grocery and C-stores as well. The pair works very well together, having a long friendship. Trading on their knowledge of healthy food and water and Faith’s extensive knowledge of media, they know how to wholesale the product and have been very successful in that capacity. Working in the MonDak locale, Faith and Brenda currently base themselves in the Glendive area.

The foods they represent are packaged in state of the art “Retort” packaging which gives it a shelf life of up to 5 years. Its gold colored, metallic enclosure is eye catching on displays and they are perfect for many applications such as travel, camping and hiking. In a genre of its own, not much mimics it; they have a tight hold on the bison, ready to eat market. The chili comes with or without beans and is a substantial helping. It is also easy to heat up. The jerky and pepperoni style buffalo sticks also come in a variety of flavors and are in a re-sealable packet. According to their website, the meat is not pressed or formed and is obtained from whole muscle.

The bison are raised in St Ignatius, MT on natural grasses and this makes the company feel safer about the quality and integrity of the products. Should more marketing information or product information be needed, visit them on their website, montrailbison.com.
