Sidney Students of the Month

West Side Elementary

Brodey Skogen was chosen as April’s Student of the Month for West Side School. Brodey always has a smile on his face. He is willing to take on any task and he is a hard worker. Brodey is a respectful and responsible student, who is willing to help his teachers and classmates alike. He has a great attitude at school and in his wrestling competitions. Brodey has a way of brightening the day for those who cross his path. Brodey is a 4th grader in Ms. DiFonzo’s classroom and he is the son of Kevin and Amanda Skogen.

Sidney Middle School

April’s 7th grade Student of the Month is Quinten Nelson. Quinten is the son of Chad and Lori Nelson. Quinten is an active member of his class. He thinks about the question and raises his hand before he will give an answer. This is one example of something that makes him a respectful and responsible learner at Sidney Middle School. He gives his time and help to classmates who might not understand a concept or idea. His help isn’t just giving someone the answer. He doesn’t make them feel bad about not understanding the work. Rather, he is an encouraging and supportive classmate. Quinten’s quality of work and ability to work with his classmates is why Quinten was chosen Student of the Month. Congratulations, Quinten.

Agriculture Education

Jim Topp, son of Kevin and Colleen Topp of Sidney has been selected for the Student of the Month award. Jim’s involvement in Agriculture Education course work has accumulated to 16 semesters over the past four years. Recent competitive recognition on the state level events in FFA, Skills-USA, football and work experience has led to this student honor. Jim’s mechanical aptitude, skills and abilities stand above other local, regional and state-wide students. Jim’s recent Career and Technical Education state events have demonstrated this.

Jim has enrolled in North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton for this coming fall to study Diesel Technology. He has been a valued employee at Sunrise Equipment for four years honing his mechanical work experience. He has served both FFA and Skills-USA chapters as an Officer and participated in a variety of career development events over the years. We wish Jim great success in his future endeavors.
