Nine businesses will receive Family Business Day awards at the 2013 Montana State University Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship State Farm Insurance Family Business Day, set for Friday, Oct. 11, at the Holiday Inn in Bozeman.

The 2013 Family Business Day award winners are: Steamboat Dry Goods of Wolf Point in the very small business category (fewer than 10 employees); Buffalo Restoration of Bozeman in the small business category (10-30 employees); Spika Welding and Manufacturing of Lewistown in the medium business category (30-50 employees); Langlas and Associates of Billings and Bozeman in the large business category (more than 50 employees); Tri-County Implement of Sidney and Clausen and Sons of Havre in the old business category (operating at least 50 years); and Drange Apiary of Laurel in the new business category (operating 10 or fewer years). McKnight’s presentation, “You Can, I can, We Can – We’re all in this Together,” will focus on the changing business environment that is shaping the backbone of the global economy. McKnight will discuss the results of working together in order to develop and expand business opportunities – from family-owned businesses to university-related research parks.

A $20 registration fee is required to attend the keynote luncheon. For more information, or to make a reservation, call Phyllis Johnson at 994-6796 or email [email protected].

The Montana Family Business program is in its 20th year. The MSU Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship and State Farm Insurance, in honor of Robert Jaedicke, host the program. Stockman Bank underwrites the awards, with additional support for the program provided by the Montana Chamber of Commerce.
