Marci Steedley, the owner of the new barber shop Klipper Kuts, is happy to be in eastern Montana as it has been a long-time dream of hers to live in the state. Steedley opened the shop in the Yellowstone Marketplace in Sidney July 16, 2014, this being the third barbershop she has owned and operated in her fifteen year career.
“I love the people,” said Steedley who started barbering at the age of nineteen. “I like talking with the people that come in; everyone is friendly.”
Steedley graduated from the Moler Barber College in Fargo, ND and started in her profession May 1, 2000. She has previously lived and worked in Wyoming, South Dakota, and North Dakota and moved to the MonDak after her sister in Alexander, ND mentioned a need for barbers in the area.
Steedley is also the manager of the Yellowstone Marketplace and commented, “it’s a learning experience and I really enjoy it. It gives me something different to do.”
When Arch Ellwein, owner of the recently opened Flyin’ Lion Antiques & Collectibles, suggested an open house, Steedley was on board and will be donating gift certificates to Klipper Kuts as part of the door prizes. The open house, scheduled from 4:00pm until 6:00pm on Friday March 27th, will be an opportunity for the community to visit the new businesses in the building, meet the business owners, get some great bargains, enter for a chance to win variety of door prizes, and enjoy complimentary cookies and punch.
On behalf of all the business owners, Steedley invites everyone to stop in and see what’s new at the Yellowstone Marketplace located at 102 N Central Ave in Sidney.
Klipper Kuts is open Wednesday through Friday 9:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 11:00am to 7:00pm and takes walk-ins only, men, women, and children.
