On Tuesday, May 9, Murphy Motors officially became Williston Auto. What began as a buyout became a partnership after Pat Murphy and David Billion became acquainted with each other and realized the potential of working together to create the very best experience for both their customers and employees. At a press conference held last Tuesday, both men expressed what a great time it is to be in Williston, ND, especially in the car business.
Williston Auto has retained all the Murphy Motors employees and is looking to add a handful more to their sales staff and the new quick lube where customers will no longer need to make an appointment. They are also looking at potential properties to build a new facility.
David Billion is a 3rd generation auto man from South Dakota who started as a sales person in 1995, became a partner in 2003, and then walked away in 2015. Realizing he truly missed the business, Billion started looking for a great fit and found it in Williston. He said it will be business as usual, with the customer and employee experience even better.
Murphy is looking forward to some newfound freedom to ride his bike and spend time with his grandkids although he will continue to handle Corvette Stingray sales for the dealership.
