Sorenson Has Cared For RCF&R Grounds For 18 Years

Sherry Sorenson has been the Grounds Supervisor at the Richland County Fair and Rodeo for the past 18 years. There have been many good changes over the years from a new Beer Garden, Event Center, Exhibit building and bathroom facilities with the most recent project of the new 4-H Barn Complex.

With events being held year-round, on site she does everything from snow removal to cleaning of the Event Center. Events that utilize the arena require 2-3 days of maintenance to prepare the grounds.

Anyone who has attended the Richland County Fair and Rodeo can appreciate the beautiful grounds, from the handicap accessibility of the midway and buildings, to the amazing grass area that is meticulously cared for and used for the carnival rides. A future project that is planned is a new sprinkler system.

When asked what has kept her working at the fairgrounds she quickly answered, "I work with a great group of people".
