The 2022-2023 boys basketball team has a special pride as they take the floor in their new warm up shirts. The back has angel wings and the initials PQ. This is in memory of head coach Chad Quilling's father, Paul Quilling. "We lost Dad a year ago this month. He was the biggest Sidney Eagle sports fan I know. He followed every sport, everywhere. It didn't matter if it was football or track, as long as they wore the Eagle on their back, he was there whenever he possibly could be.", said Chad Quilling. Paul's daughter, Kari Jones, added "Even at the end, we had NFHS network on in the hospital, and talked to Dad about every update." When Coach Quilling was asked who came up with the tribute idea, he answered, "A good friend."
