RMHF Fall Comedy Fest Planned For October

When a hospital foundation tells you they will keep you in stitches, you might think, no thanks, I’m holding together quite nicely on my own. Don’t worry, those aren’t the kind of stitches they’re referring to. They mean they have comedy talent coming your way that will leave you laughing until you think you might burst. Of course, you won’t actually come apart at the seams, but if you do, the room will be filled with plenty of medical folks who can stitch, in a pinch.

Whew! Now that you know it’s safe to attend the 9th annual Fall Comedy Fest, the Roosevelt Memorial Healthcare Foundation sincerely hopes you will! More attendees increase the opportunity for raising money to purchase medical equipment vital for ensuring our community has access to quality routine and emergency care. Besides, attending will be good for your health! After all, laughter really is the best medicine.

So, how about a joke. Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to this year’s fundraiser of course! While the Foundation hasn’t actually invited any pesky pollo (Psst! That’s Spanish for chickens) to the event, they did invite Mark Poolos to serve as the comedy talent for the evening.

His comedy style has been compared to the likes of Jim Gaffigan and Louie Anderson. He has performed all over the United States and Canada in clubs, colleges and at corporate events, while also touring with Tru TVs, and Michael Carbonaro.

The event will take place at the Dry Prairie Rural Water Authority, Culbertson, MT, on Oct. 7, 2023, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in many raffles. Some of the prizes include processed quarter-beefs, a barrel of brews, a lottery ticket board, season passes to the Fort Peck Theater, Cape Air tickets, Montana Silversmith jewelry, as well as dozens of baskets. A live art and pie auction featuring local talent will also take place.

The Foundation will announce its’ Philanthropist of the Year with a special presentation.

Dinner will include sirloin steak and potatoes, vegetables, rolls and a variety of desserts. For the third consecutive year, the meal will be sponsored by Forefront Healthcare Services.

Dress is casual.
