Sara McMillen is a new Sidney School Board member after Tuesday’s election.
Voters decided on two individuals to serve three-year seats during the election. McMillen received 484 votes as the top vote-getter. Josh McGahan was re-elected with 341 votes. Incumbent Kelly Dey received 330 votes. Trustee Randy Iversen ran unopposed for a two-year position and received 604 votes. Lisa Gorder will be re-appointed by acclamation to the outlying trustee position.
Elected in Fairview were Marion Kittleson with 220 votes and Lynn Shelmerdine with 172 votes. Jason Deming received 153 votes.
A close race occurred in Culbertson where three candidates ran for two trustee positions. Lisa Steppler topped the candidates with 235 votes. Unofficially, Amber Fox received 141 votes compared to current board chair Mark Colvin’s 140 votes for the second position. The official results will be canvased at Culbertson’s next board meeting on Tuesday, May 21.
