Northeastern Arts Network Concert To Be Held Oct. 6

The Northeastern Arts Network presents singer/songwriter Sara Hickman on Thursday, Oct. 6 as part of the Big Sky Concert Series. This concert will be held at the Sidney Middle School Auditorium at 7 p.m.

Whether a stirring rendition of her original songs, a children’s show, or a workshop for songwriters, Sara’s song craft consistently delivers heartfelt joy. From her live concerts to her appearances on “Austin City Limits” or “The Tonight Show”, Sara is a dynamic and eclectic performer. Her fundraising efforts, as well as her dedication to heightening awareness of social issues such as homelessness and child welfare, underscore her humanitarian core. And, in recent years, Sara’s natural talent for engaging and motivating audiences through song and speech has put her in demand as a keynote presenter. She writes and sings in commercials too.

Sara became the Official State Musician of Texas in 2010, following in the footsteps of the legendary Willie Nelson.

Sara Hickman’s latest project has proven her dedication to raising awareness and funding for arts education programs in Texas schools. Her latest CD, “The Best of Times” was produced to benefit the Theatre Action Project, Austin, TX, a non-profit that brings art, music and theatre to Central Texas schools. Sales of this compilation of Sara’s songs covered by 38 renowned Texas artists will go to benefit this project (TAP). Artists include: Willie Nelson, Marcia Ball, Shawn Colvin, Ruthie Foster, Jimmy La Fave, Edie Brickell and New Bohemians, Brave Combo, Robert Earl Keen... and dozens more!

Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Sidney Food Bank in honor of Sara’s humanitarian efforts and receive $1 off any ticket purchased that evening. Tickets prices at the door: adults $15, senior $13, and students $10.
