Hoffman Sewing Challenge Coming to Eastern Montana

Local quilting and sewing enthusiasts will have the opportunity to view the workmanship of fellow artists from across the country on March 9. The premiere Hoffman Challenge Collection is coming to Sidney. Included in the trunk show is a collection of 40 quilts and 30 garments and accessories made by sewing artists from across the country.

The show will be in Sidney one day only on Saturday March 9, 10am to 4pm MST at the MSU Extension- EARC Building. Admission is $5. The show is sponsored by the Sidney/Eastern Montana Chapter of the American Sewing Guild.

The Hoffman Challenge begins with the sponsoring company, Hoffman California Fabrics, choosing a fabric as the focus for the competition. The challenge intends to inspire textile artists world-wide to create an original item using a recognizable portion of the challenge fabric. The submission of an entry for the Hoffman Challenge commits that entry to travel in one of several trunk collections for a full year. Now in its 26th year, entries come from all 50 states and 7 different countries.

Sewing enthusiasts in Eastern Montana will want to take this opportunity to view the Hoffman collection of quilts, clothing and accessories. The visual impact and workmanship of each piece will be inspirational.
