Sidney Boys Basketball Senior Night

Senior Night for the boys basketball was held last Thursday during the home game against Glendive. Seniors, with their parents, were acknowledged for their accomplishments and dedication to the team. This year's team consisted of four seniors and one senior manager including: Paul Brannan, Caleb Benson, Colin Moran, Rylee Peterson and manager Rietta Iversen.

Coach Dan Strasheim had the following to say about the four seniors:

Paul Brannan is in his second year as a varsity team member. Whether it is in a game or practice, Paul is always the hardest working kid on the floor. Because of this he gets a lot accomplished and also sets a very good example for our younger kids to follow. He has also put in a lot of time in the weight room during the off season. Paul has a wonderful attitude and has been a real pleasure to be around. He will be greatly missed next season. Paul is also a very good student with a 3.241 GPA.

Caleb Benson is in his third year as a varsity member. Caleb has tremendous athletic ability and together with his work ethic has been one of our top players the past couple of seasons. He plays with great energy and also has become a top-notch on-ball defender for us this season. Caleb is the type of kid that can always put a smile on everyone's face no matter how things are going. Caleb has been a real pleasure to be around the last three years and will be greatly missed next season.

Colin Moran is in his third year as a varisty member. Because of his length and overall ability, Colin has been the focal point for other teams' defenses this season. He can play inside or outside offensively and sees the floor extremely well. Colin is currently at or near the top of many statistical categories on our team. He is also an excellent student, 3.705 GPA in the classroom. Colin has been a pleasure to be around the last three years and will be greatly missed next season.

Rylee Peterson is in his second year as a varsity team member. He is the ultimate team player who has a willingness to do with enthusiasm and is always cheering for his teammates when he is not in the game. He is currently one of our top rebounders and because of his off-season work, he has become a good ball handler for us this season as well. Rylee has been a real pleasure to have in our program and will be greatly missed next season. Not only is Rylee a good basketball player, but also a very good student 3.488 GPA.
