Territorial Landworks Holds Ribbon Cutting in Sidney

Due to strong growth, Territorial Landworks has opened a branch office in Sidney. The company's corporate office is located in Missoula and now has branch offices in Billings, Baker and Sidney. Territorial Landworks, Inc. is an established firm that provides a multitude of services with an emphasis in civil engineering, surveying and land use consulting for public and private clients throughout Montana, Idaho, Washington, Wyoming and North Dakota.

Based in Missoula, TLI felt the brunt of the economic slump as many others in industry did during the 2008 recession. "We're good engineers. We have a good reputation as a company, but everyone was slow," Zane Johnson, engineer with TLI, said. He shared the company's story at this year's annual meeting of the Montana Petroleum Association. "We went from 35 employees in our hay day, down to 18 employees, to as large as the company's ever been today with over 45 employees," Johnson said. "It's all thanks to the Bakken." Territorial Landworks, Inc. has created more jobs throughout Montana with an increase of staffing by 240 percent over the last 14 months.

While the company never dabbled in oil and gas before the Bakken boom, the lack of work as a result of the slow economy prompted the addition of an oil and gas sector to their portfolio. TLI works to produce well location plats, pipeline surveys, road design and whatever else their clients need. The company prides itself on its customer service, professional products, speed and flexibility.

The company opened an office in Fairview January 2012, but now has moved the office to 141 7th St. S.W., Suite B, Sidney because of growth.
