Yellowstone Valley Greenhouse Prepares To Open For The Season

Natalie Erikstrup and her dedicated staff at the Yellowstone Valley Greenhouse are gearing up for season and invite everyone to stop in for their tried-and-true favorites and to see what's new. The greenhouse will be opening for the season the last week of April through June offering an extensive variety of perennial flowers and grasses, annual flowers and grasses, and vegetables.

All the plants are Montana grown in one of the five greenhouses with planting beginning in February. Nothing at the Yellowstone Valley Greenhouse is pre-made.

Everything is locally started and transplanted and there is a selection of over 400 hand made baskets. Everything is hybrid which allows for convenient low maintenance plants such as 'self-cleaning' petunias that don't require dead-heading.

"Every plant is groomed and ready to go. Remember to feed your flowers at least once a week when you water them," commented Erikstrup of maintenance throughout the season.

The Greenhouse tries new items and varieties every year based on interest and demand. This year there is a wide variety of geraniums, petunias in a spectacular array of new and classic colors, new annuals including beautiful annual grasses that are easy to care for and add stunning accents, and a lot of shade perennials.

Everything in the greenhouse is watered by hand and cared for by the people who are available to answer gardening questions and assist customers in finding just what they are looking for.

"I have a good crew; they work hard all season and they do a wonderful job," Erikstrup said.

The Yellowstone Valley Greenhouse will be open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm and on Sundays from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. They are located east on County Road 127 off of MT Highway 16. To contact them please call 406-482-8051.
