Harvest Fest Open House September 22

The Long X Arts Foundation and McKenzie County Healthcare System’s Horizon Assisted Living Facility invite the public to the Harvest Fest Open House to celebrate harvest and the memories associated with it.

The event will run from 1:30 to 4:30 pm at Horizon Assisted Living Facility and will feature wagon rides, a wood working craft, live music by area band Lonesome Willy and desserts. Apple pie BINGO will be at 2:00 pm and guests and residents will have the chance to pet and interact with live farm animals throughout the afternoon.

The event is supported by the Long X Arts Foundation’s Art for Life grant that focuses on art programming and community and youth engagement for our elders.

“This is just one of the many ways the Arts Foundation is working to engage our elders with art and folk activities that engage their memories and invite them to tell stories and connect with guests,” said Jessie Scofield, McKenzie County Tourism Arts and Event Director. “In addition to these special activities, the 2nd grade classes have begun visiting and doing projects with the Good Shepherd Home residents each week, which is really special for the students and residents involved.”

Harvest Fest is FREE for all ages. Bring your family and join the fun!

Wagon rides from parking in the East Clinic Parking Lot.
