JustServe.org Makes Volunteers And Service Organizations Easier To Find Each Other

Needing a volunteer? Wanting to volunteer? Every small community struggles with the volunteer needs of organizations and finding people who want to help fit those needs. Local community member Kristine Gifford brought a service project management tool to Sidney to help make these needs easier to fill with JustServe.org. Developed for worldwide use, Just Serve is a free community resource that brings organizations and volunteers together to manage volunteer needs within specific organizational projects. “Just Serve is a gift to communities,” says board member and promotor Kristine Gifford. In 2017 Kristine, along with several community members brought Just Serve to Richland County as a way to build unity through community services. According to the website justserve.org, “It helps your organization get involved in the community and allows employees or group members to select service opportunities that are a perfect fit for themselves, their family, or your organization.” Currently the site supports 18 projects for 11 organizations within Richland County. Kristine is adding more regularly as organizations and volunteers experience the benefit the website can provide to volunteer management. The website provides an intro video demonstrating the benefits to organizations and volunteers but the program also provides an app and alerts for upcoming volunteer opportunities. “This website is great for teens that need volunteer hours for school or after-school activities. Volunteer hours can be printed off for validation and easy tracking on the site,” says Kristine.

Any faith, nonprofit, community, or governmental organization can sign up on JustServe.org. Once registered, organizations can create a service project. The projects are descriptive so volunteers can decide which opportunities they want to volunteer for. Volunteers can be families, individuals, service clubs, faith organizations, and youth and student groups. Volunteers can see what opportunities are available in a service area and also identify parameters to limit projects displayed to those parameters. JustServe.org is available worldwide and does include many counties in Montana and North Dakota.
