Wheeler, Bieber & Associates To Hold Business After Hours July 13

The newly renamed accounting firm, Wheeler, Bieber & Associates, will be hosting a business after-hours event in the parking lot of their offices located at 1060 South Central Ave., on Thursday, July 13 at 5 p.m.

Formerly Smith, Lange, & Halley, the firm has been operating in its current offices since 1988. Cory Wheeler bought out former owner Duane Smith, Amy Bieber then bought out Teresa Halley, and Richard Lange has since retired.

Together, Wheeler and Bieber decided to finally undertake the arduous process of changing the official title to reflect their own last names.

Spoken like a true, frugal accountant, Wheeler comedically commented that they are “just too cheap to change names.” Bieber and Wheeler have a combined 20 years of experience as CPAs. They have a productive and good-spirited working relationship.

Wheeler grew up in Fairview. After graduating high school, he spent six years as a black hawk mechanic in the Army. Wheeler then attended North Dakota State University, where he received his degree in accounting. “Cory loves finding loopholes in the tax code to help clients,” Bieber remarked.

Bieber is a Sidney native and SHS graduate. She took a more direct route, receiving her accounting degree from MSU Billings and immediately returning home to begin working at the firm. Both agree that what sets their firm apart from the rest is the care they put into their work and the relationships they have built with clients.

Along the way, the firm has also established various office traditions to create a fun working environment and break the stereotypes that are associated with accountants. This lively group is hiring candidates with accounting degrees and/or CPA licenses. If interested, reach out to [email protected] or call 406-433-4510.

Although they hate turning away potential clients and the opportunity to help more people, the firm is beyond max capacity for the number of clients they can currently take on.

The Sidney Chamber of Commerce is hosting a business after-hours event to commemorate the firm’s renaming. Contrary to town ramblings and Wheeler’s hopes, there will not be a mechanical bull due to a lack of insurance liability coverage. Nevertheless, the event is guaranteed to be a swell time with BBQ, beverages, games, and networking. Join us in celebrating Wheeler and Bieber’s achievements!
