30th Annual Wine & Food Festival To Feature Stand-Up Comedian "Moody McCarthy"

The Foundation for Community Care will be holding their 30th Annual Wine & Food Festival, Saturday. Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. in the Richland County Fair Event Center. This year's theme will be "Back to the Future of Healthcare".

The first Wine & Food Festival was held at the MonDak Heritage Center back in 1994. Now, the event has consistently had 250-500 attendees.

This year, the Foundation and its planning team has decided to make some changes to the evening. From 6-8 p.m. there will be wine sampling from a wide selection of hand selected wines that Blue Rock will make available in our area stores after the event. Along with the wine, there will be food tasting from local vendors like Mimi's Kitchen, Reynold's, Leroy's Catering, Sunny's Family Restaurant, Tap House, The Rush, Linette Miller Catering, Island Cuisine, and Wild Calf Coffee. New features will be added to the line up – a spritzer and sangria station, and a cooking-with-wine demonstration! Several artistic contributions will be on display for preview at the event, however the auction will not begin until Sunday, Nov. 5 and will continue until Thursday, Nov. 9. After the Wine & Food Festival, the artwork will be on display at the Foundation for Community Care's office and you are invited to stop by to experience the amazing talents in our community, prepare your bidding selections, and receive assistance with accessing the on-line auction and setting up your account.

New this year, a comedy show featuring Moody McCarthy will start at 8 p.m., sharp. According to his website, http://www.moodymccarthy.com, McCarthy is a stand-up comedian from New York. His material is described as smart and universal without being trite. Couple that with a disarming stage presence and in the moment chops and he will brighten any event.

Proceeds raised at this event will go towards the Sidney Health Center's Cancer Center expansion. Tickets went on sale Oct. 2 for $50 each or $300 for a table for four. Sponsoring the event is $1000 and comes with 2 tables, seating 8. For more information on the event call the Foundation for Community Care at 406-488-2273, email them at [email protected], or visit their website, http://www.foundationforcommunitycare.org. The Foundation for Community Care is located at 221 2nd St. NW in Sidney.
