The MonDak Heritage Center Hosts "Art, Poetry, & Performance" A Multimedia Workshop By Award Winning Singer/Songwriter & Artist Rebecca Folsom!

On Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. the MonDak Heritage Center will be hosting a multimedia class by award winning national touring artist, published poet, and master singer-songwriter Rebecca Folsom! In this experiential and particularly delightful workshop, participants merge fine art (drawing or painting), singing, and writing. Folsom explains, "We work/play with all three media at the same time. This workshop has a cascade effect; it silences the inner critic and heightens the creative process. It is amazing how each individual's work will inspire and positively impact the others in the group." If you are an expert or just dabble in any or all forms of art, music, or writing this is the workshop for you! This workshop is offered on a "Contribute What You Can" fee structure! Upon registering for the class, please make a donation of your choice, anywhere from $1-$100 to help cover the cost of bringing this nationally recognized artist and instructor to our community.

Folsom has presented this innovative workshop across the country to audiences of all skill levels. In addition to her music, Rebecca has written and published two books of poetry and created numerous paintings of fine art. For more than 30 years, she has been a transformational teacher and leadership coach. Rebecca has inspired thousands of individuals, large and small groups, and leadership teams of national and international corporations. She helps all seekers break down limitations, open more creative flow, and embrace more amazing life experiences. Her philanthropy includes serving with Blue Sky Bridge (a child advocacy organization), The Women's Foundation of Colorado, Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, Onetreeplanted.org, and IRC International Rescue Committee, to name just a few. She has BFA in Fine Arts and relishes the opportunity to use all the arts to uplift people's lives.

Art, Poetry, and Performance is a unique workshop that is open to the public and all adults and young adults are invited to attend. Please sign up for the class by stopping by the MonDak Heritage Center, calling 406-433-3500, or emailing [email protected].

On Oct. 25, bring your musical instrument, notebook, and artistic talents. The MonDak Heritage Center and Rebecca will provide the instruction, stage, acrylic paint, canvas, and brushes. To help fund this event please consider a "Contribute What You Can" donation and/or purchase tickets to the MDHC fundraising event featuring Folsom's musical talents, Pub Night, on Oct. 27! Pub Night is the annual combined fundraising event for the Northeastern Arts Network and the MonDak Heritage Center. Proceeds from this event support live music, exhibits, programs, and collections preservation at the MonDak Heritage Center and enable Northeastern Arts Network to bring music and education programs to area schools.

The MonDak Heritage Center is located at 120 3rd Ave SE, Sidney and is open Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday, 1-4 p.m. Admission to the MonDak Heritage Center is free.
