Fort Union Park Ranger Richard Stenberg will lead a hike to the Bodmer Overlook, where Swiss artist Karl Bodmer sketched his famous image of the Assiniboine at Fort Union Trading Post during the summer of 1833. The artist, Mr. Darryl Growing Thunder is a member of the Dakota and Assiniboine tribes from Fort Peck, Montana said Park Ranger Loren Yellow Bird. The stories being displayed reflect the lifestyle of the Plains Indian warriors. Mice and rodents are known to carry disease and rodents are damaging archeological resources by burrowing into them.
