MonDak Relay For Life Event This Friday

The public is invited to attend the MonDak Relay For Life event that will be held this Friday, July 22 at the Richland County Fairgrounds, Sidney.

Relay For Life is a family-oriented event where participants enjoy the camaraderie of a team and also raise funds to support the activities of the American Cancer Society.

At 4 p.m., the Kids’ Corner will begin. There will be balloon animals, face painting, bouncing castle, 25 cent carnival games, and much more. For the adults, there will be silent auction baskets available for bid and an opportunity to win prizes by participating in a trivia contest.

A supper provided by LeRoy Strasheim Catering will begin at 5 p.m. The dinner is free for all participants and survivors and free-will donation for those not participating. There will also be food vendors on hand with a variety of treats to choose from.

At 6 p.m., there will be stage entertainment with performances by Little Miss Montana Hallie Andrews, The Stomping Grounds Clogging Studio, Miss Montana Outstanding Teen Jalyssa Gorder and 4 By Grace.

The Opening Ceremonies will start at 7 p.m. with a survivor speech by Bob Meehan. The survivor lap, followed by the parade of teams, will kick-off the Relay For Life walk that will last for 12 hours ending at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning. At 8 a.m., the Sharpshooters will host a donut hole eating contest.

A special luminaria ceremony will take place at 9:30 p.m. honoring cancer survivors and those lost to this deadly disease. The rest of the night will be filled with activities for the teams including a talent show, team sponsored activities, theme laps, games and much more.
