Free Community Concert This Sunday

Everyone is encouraged to come together this Sunday, March 18 for a free community concert at St. Matthew’s Parish Center, 310 7th St. SE, Sidney. Concert organizers have put together an afternoon of music in order to help address all the changes in our community in recent months and to reaffirm the solid strength we possess. The concert will feature a broad spectrum of music and performances by members of the community, as well as a chalk drawing by Katie Pust. Don Gratz, former Sidney High School music teacher, will host.

Doors open at 1 p.m., with the concert starting at 2 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to pick up a free logo button and sign or leave a message on a tree leaf, which will become a part of the Sidney Community Tree. The tree will be on display in Sidney for a while and then be dismantled with the leaves put in a scrapbook.

In addition to the concert, there will be a silent auction, with proceeds going to Gary Arnold’s stepchildren. People may enjoy refreshments before the concert, as they check out all the auction items, and again following the program as they make final bids and wait to take home their treasures.
