Freedom in Christ Prison Ministry Fundraiser October 9

Pella Lutheran Church, 418 Main Street in Sidney, Montana, is hosting a fundraiser on Sunday, October 9, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to benefit Freedom in Christ Prison Ministry. A spaghetti dinner with dessert will be served. A free-will offering for dinner is appreciated.

The featured event is a LIVE state-wide silent auction of quilts hand-made by quilters and quilting groups from across Montana and many pieces of art. Come join this fun and lively event with competitive bidding across Montana and watch results live and in real time! The excitement builds during the hour the bidding is happening. Our auction is open to the public, so please come join us for a fun evening!

This year we have a new and exciting feature added to our auction. If you have a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet access, you can set up a bidder account and participate in the bidding anywhere you are located. You miss out on the fun and fellowship of the live locations, but you can bid on that special item you have your eye on! (You will also be able to set up your account even if you are attending a live event.) We will have instructions on our website on how to set up your account and enter the auction to place your bids coming in the next few days.

All proceeds from the auction and free-will offerings will help fund Freedom in Christ Prison Ministry, an ecumenical worshipping community of the Montana Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America at Montana State Prison (MSP) in Deer Lodge. Freedom in Christ Prison Ministry receives no funding from the State of Montana. The ministry operates strictly on the generous donations and gifts from the public.

Freedom in Christ’s mission is to provide the opportunity for a genuine experience of God’s love in Jesus Christ for the more than 1,400 men at MSP regardless of denomination. The ministry provides consistent pastoral care on a daily basis, a weekly worship service and Bible study classes. The pastor also provides pastoral counseling, baptisms and funerals.

Freedom in Christ invites all faith communities to join in building the ministry for the men at MSP. We welcome all visitors to come and attend worship services or Bible Studies.
