COVID-19 has put a damper on many activities, but there are still plenty of family fun events to take in.

Watford City

Thursdays - Sept. 3 – Watford Market, 5:30-7:30 p.m., 501 7th St SE. Visit local vendor booths while listening to live music from local artists. The Lions Club will be selling $5 burger plates.

Saturday, Aug. 8 – Bakken Summer Ride - Lake Sakakawea Float. Hosted by North Dakota Petroleum Foundation. Proceeds will benefit Oilfield Helping Hands. Noon-5 p.m. Float at your own pace and meet other boaters between Skunk Bay, McKenzie Bay, and Indian Hills!

Friday, Aug. 14 – Family Fun Fest starting at 4 p.m. on Main Street. There will be food vendors, a car show, cornhole, spikeball, live music, merchandise vendors and face painting.

Monday, Aug. 31 – Couples Golf Scramble and Crab Dinner 5:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m., Fox Hills Golf Course. Relax with drinks and appetizers on the course while playing a 9-hole scramble. Following the scramble will be a delicious crab dinner. Cost is $125 per couple and includes two drinks on the course, appetizers, and crab dinner. Sat., Sept. 5 – Spinning Pole Arena Youth Playday starting at 10 a.m., 12481 21st St NW. Entry fee $5. Youth rodeo featuring barrels, poles, flag race, speed race and dummy roping. Call 406-853-5779 for more information.

Williston

The Williston Area Recreation Center (ARC) is open and operating at 75% capacity. Monday – Friday: 5 a.m. – 8 p.m .; Saturday 7 a.m. – 7 p.m .; Sunday: 1– 7 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 8 – Chokecherry Festival Car Show, Spring Lake Park, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Awards will be given out to the top three favorite cars. There will also be a raffle for a Traeger Grill package.

Thursday, Aug. 20 & Friday, Aug. 21 – 2020 API Golf Tournament, Eagle Ridge Golf Club. Proceeds will be used to pay for scholarships, as well as donations to local charities and non-profits.

Saturday, Aug. 22 – 15th Annual Fun Run. Hosted by Fire and Iron Station 116. This promises to be the biggest and best ride to date. Starts at noon.

Friday, Aug. 28 - Bakken Xtrex: - Mon-Dak's filthiest 5K! Get wet and get dirty. Challenging obstacles with mud, mud, and more mud. Food, drinks, music, and swag. Youth teams, competitive teams, family teams, and competitive wave. Register at https://www.willistonparks.com/bakkenxtrek

• Adult/Youth Registration 5K - Includes a T-shirt, meal in the party zone, finishing prize, and a race medal.

Competitive wave divisions include:

• Top three male & female in the following age groups: 16-25, 26-35, 36+

• Top three teams. Results will be based on a points system. The top five fastest times on each team will be counted.

Saturday, Aug. 8 - Draggin' Main – Cruising for our First Responders. Hosted by KGCX 93.1 FM and 406 Audio Vision. 7– 9 p.m. This even showcases and honors the Richland County first responders. Pizza by the slice and chips and salsa available to purchase. Join in on the Scavenger Hunt through town.

Wednesday, Aug. 12 - Cool Off With Cops. The Richland County Housing Authority and the Sidney Police Department presents Cool Off With Cops 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12. Kids, come have fun and get to know our community law enforcement. Enjoy ice cream treats and fun yard games. This event will be held at the Sunset Village Community Lawn across the street from RCHA, 1032 6th St. SW, Sidney.
