The Sidney Eagles Speech and Drama Team headed to Glasgow for a tough competition on Saturday, Dec, 17, 2011. There was a "fun" event added to this meet: Improv Duo with Sidney ending up on top with 1st and 2nd places. The Sidney teams that competed were Katie Staffanson and Tori Hill, Carl Redman and Taylor Fay placed 2nd, Michael Waddell and Kyle Smith placed 1st. The Speech Team took 2nd place in Class A Sweeps led by the awesome Coach Gail Staffanson. Tori Hill 4th Place in MPA, Jesse Staffanson 7th Place MPA, Michael Waddell 3rd in Impromptu Speech, Kyle Smith 2nd in Improptu Speech, Kalen Hance 1st in Extemporaneous Speech. The Drama Team took 1st Place in Class A Sweeps led by the energetic Coach Christy Pierce. Carl Redman 2nd Place Humorous Solo, Emily Schaff Humorous Solo, John Elmore & Lexie Brunsvold Humorous Duo, Deserae Wirth and Lizzy Gangstad Humorous Duo, Ariana Gaskin Serious Solo, Kelsey Halvorson & Katie Staffanson 4th Place in Serious Duo, Taylor Fay & Ciara Parks 2nd Place in Classical Duo.
The Fairview Drama Team was also in Glasgow. Rita Wick placed 8th in Pantomime.
